PSYCHO THERAPY
Psychotherapy is a general term for treating mental health problems by talking with a psychiatrist, psychologist or other mental health provider. During psychotherapy, you learn about your condition and your moods, feelings, thoughts and behaviors. Psychotherapy helps you learn how to take control of your life and respond to challenging situations with healthy coping skills. There are many specific types of psychotherapy, each with its own approach. The type of psychotherapy that's right for you depends on your individual situation.
Psychotherapy can be used to treat a wide range of mental health conditions, including:
• depression
• anxiety disorders
• borderline personality disorder (BPD)
• obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
• post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
• long-term illnesses
• eating disorders, such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia and binge eating
• drugs misuse
Therapy can be given in a variety of formats, including:
• Individual: This therapy involves only the patient and the therapist.
• Group: Two or more patients may participate in therapy at the same time. Patients are able to share experiences and learn that others feel the same way and have had the same experiences.
• Marital/couples: This type of therapy helps spouses and partners understand why their loved one has a mental disorder, what changes in communication and behaviors can help, and what they can do to cope.
• Family: Because family is a key part of the team that helps people with mental illness get better, it is sometimes helpful for family members to understand what their loved one is going through, how they themselves can cope, and what they can do to help.
CHILD BEHAVIOR THERAPY:
There are many children that suffer from some type of behavioral or emotional issues that result in bad behavior. These children could suffer from autism, Attention Deficit Disorder(ADHD) or any type of childhood behavior, but the bottom line is to realize that they are not purposely doing it and gets them help through cognitive behavior therapy, applied behavior therapy or play therapy.
Cognitive therapy involves minimizing anxiety, learning alternative ideas and learning that feelings and moods alter behavior. It helps the child to identify their inner thoughts and replace bad thoughts with positive productive thoughts. Children with behavioral issues need to have some type of therapy that allows them to express themselves without consequences and then slowly build up their level of trust with the counselor. Once this is done the child can begin to learn the reasons for their behavior and what the trigger points are and how to deal with those issues once they arise.
Parents must learn to identify mood swings, learning disability and temper tantrums of their children which need special attention and treatment by experts.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY:
Occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants help people across the lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities (occupations). Common occupational therapy interventions include helping children with disabilities to participate fully in school and social situations, helping people recovering from injury to regain skills, and providing supports for older adults experiencing physical and cognitive changes. Occupational therapy services typically include:
• an individualized evaluation, during which the client/family and occupational therapist determine the person’s goals,
• customized intervention to improve the person’s ability to perform daily activities and reach the goals, and
• an outcomes evaluation to ensure that the goals are being met and/or make changes to the intervention plan.

It also provides opportunities for social interaction and recreational activities. Work is frequently identified as an important goal of people with physical or mental impairment. Any person with such impairment who expresses an interest in gaining employment, or who may benefit from employment, should receive vocational services, which will assist with the identification of the best options with regard to training, re-training or placement.
Vocational training involves specific work skills training and would include training for crafts, technical trades and administration-based employment. Programs developed specifically for people with disability often include options such as personal development, compensatory education and personal planning.
